IT’S DISGUSTING – The Moral Decline in Spiritual Leadership
Something The Christian Leaders Are Unaware Of
The spiritual unconsciousness of “church leadership” in this generation is staggering, incomprehensible, and almost unbelievable. The same thing that happened in the Garden of Eden at the beginning is happening again at an alarming rate.
At that time, Adam and Eve were in the garden of the LORD (Is. 51:3 reveals that Eden was the LORD’s Garden). God had warned that a prowler was on the loose by admonishing man to dress and keep the garden. To “keep” means to be a watchman, to guard, and attend to. In this, man failed – somewhere and somehow, a breach appeared in the garden’s wall, allowing a lying serpent to enter.

Church leadership is failing in the same way again today. Portals, windows, and doors are left wide open, allowing worldly influence and dominance to creep into the lives of God’s people. Cracks and breaches have been allowed to form and widen because of a lack of watchfulness and standing for the truth. Carnality, frivolity, vanity, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life have taken preeminence in the church.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (1 John 2:16)
The church embraces the world rather than the Father's will and purpose. Church leadership is too blind, unconscious, arrogant, stupid, and spiritually dead to see that the lives they live, the “self” they portray, and the carnality they endorse are opening breaches and portals that have allowed, and continue to allow, slimy serpents and demons to take hold in the church – demons that introduce doctrines of devils and philosophies of the world that bring death and bondage.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:17-24)
These verses, written by Paul to the Church in Ephesus, say it all –
· don’t walk like the Gentiles (like the world)
· in vanity (empty, profitless, idolatry)
· with a darkened understanding (their thoughts and imaginations lost in obscurity)
· alienated from the life of God (so far from God that they are estranged and distant from His will and purpose)
· blind in their hearts (spiritual eyes that do not see)
· being past feeling (they are senseless and unable to discern)
· given themselves to lasciviousness (that which is filthy and impure)
· to work uncleanness with greed (to craft moral impurity to self-gain and promotion)
Paul asked the church in Ephesus, “Is this how we have learned Christ?” Has the nature and example of Christ Jesus taught us to flaunt our flesh and lusts? Is pursuing His likeness about portraying the self, or is it about displaying His nature? No, this is not the Christ of God. This is the world that passes away. Are we not called to “put off” the carnality and worldliness of the “old man” and “put on” Christ created in righteousness and true holiness?
I am witnessing church leadership, both on the general church stage and, but more importantly, in my own spiritual family, flaunting carnality, worldliness, the self-life, spiritual shallowness, vanity, and frivolity – it’s sickening! Social media posts are full of self-promotion, packaged in worldliness, pride, and disdain for God and the purity of His will. It is not surprising that to this generation the Lord said, “Unless you repent, I will spew you out of my mouth.”
It’s coming – the day He will begin vomiting – the day judgment begins in the House of God. It’s coming – it is here!
Wake up, people – clean up your act – clean up your homes, lives, churches, and social media – portray Christ and His holiness, not self and your carnality – it’s disgusting!!!
