YOU ARE WHAT YOU FEED ON - by Paul M Hanssen

YOU ARE WHAT YOU FEED ON! By Paul M Hanssen

We have all heard it said, “You are what you eat”. Many choose not to believe this. However, no matter how hard you may try to refute this claim, it remains the truth – we are indeed what we eat.

This article is not about what we place into our physical bodies. Rather, what I wish to emphasize with the following words, is an attempt to awaken God’s people to the fact that we are what we place into our spirits and souls. Every one of us is a product of what we feed on, not only in our bodies, but also in our souls and spirits!

We live in a day when information of all sorts is available to anyone at the strike of a button on the keyboard of a computer, laptop, iPad, or phone. If you have such a device, you are a target of all manner of agendas that are being forced onto society. The internet has become the “fast food” outlet feeding the souls and spirits of multitudes of people globally who allow themselves to be sucked into the menu that is being offered. The information and misinformation on any topic that a person desires, can easily be found. Whatever your soul wants to “eat” can be ordered up on the menu as easily as typing in a word into the one-eyed beast into which the eyes peer. What most people do not realize is that the ingredients of the majority of the “food” offered on the menu of the internet is unhealthy, destructive, and misleading.

There is a reason that the devil is called, by God, the prince of the power of the air.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Ephesians 2:2)

The air has to do with the breath, or the wind of the spirit world that surrounds us. The Apostle Paul likens the “air” to the spirit that works within the children of disobedience. It is this spirit that dominates and controls the airwaves upon which the fast food menu of this world is being offered to the those who are gullible enough to consume its deadly content. There is absolutely no question in my mind that the prince of the power of the air controls that which is being offered and fed to the multitudes. It is through this medium that the spirit of this age is captivating the minds and spirits of sincere people into a web of deception. It is the spirit of deception that will be the downfall of the Church in the last days.

Speaking of the Antichrist, and hence the spirit of antichrist that is already working in the world (1 John 2:18, 1 John 4:3), Daniel prophesied these words:

…but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. (Daniel 11:21b).

The antichrist spirit gains a foothold in the establishing of his kingdom domain by using flattery. Flattery means smooth talk and blandishment (a pleasing statement or action used to persuade someone gently to do or believe something). Whenever a person looks at a menu they will normally be drawn to choose whatever pleases them most and whatever feeds into their personal preference. But just because something pleases you doesn’t mean that it is healthy, or that it is Truth! The flattering, deceiving, antichrist spirits that control the airwaves of this world will use flattery, smooth-talk, and blandishment to deposit death into your soul and spirit. You end up eating what pleases you and what you consider as your idea of truth not realizing that you are feeding your soul with a bunch of garbage. This is why many Christians today feel weak and stripped. We become what we eat!

The early church did not have the internet as their guide. They did not need a screen to feed them information or to give them enlightenment. What they had was the Holy Ghost and the teaching of the Apostles who fed them with Truth. The antichrist spirit was also rampant in the days of the early apostolic church as it is today (1 John 2:18, 1 John 4:3). However, the early church was led into Truth by the teaching of the Word. It was the Truth of the Word of God and the guiding of the Holy Ghost that caused them to “keep themselves” from the menu that was offered by the wicked one.

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. (1 John 5:18-19).

The whole world that surrounds us lieth in wickedness. We cannot be free to live for God and to serve Him if we are feeding on the wickedness and the deceits of this world. However, the wicked one will not touch us if we keep ourselves. To keep yourself means to guard and to protect. It means to remain within the fortress of Truth. It also means to keep unmarried, to watch, to preserve, and to hold fast. We must remain separate and unmarried, un-joined, and detached from the lies of the menu and the agenda of this world while we remain within the walls of God’s Divine Truth.

Saints of God, stop feeding your souls on the “air” that is controlled by spirits that are out to deceive you and lead you into bondage and spiritual weakness. Unfortunately, I am surrounded by people who live on the internet and who insist upon feeding themselves with the menu and the agenda of this world. We do not need that menu to remain alive and vigilant. We need to feed ourselves on the Word of God. Since when did God tell His elect to look into the one-eyed beast of worldly information for the sake of remaining vigilant and alive in these last days? Exactly – nowhere!! We need to continuously seek the guidance and discernment of the Holy Ghost so as to remain awake, alive, strong, and prepared. It baffles me in more ways than one to realize just how quickly people believe what they read on the menu of the internet, and yet how slow people are to react and to respond to God and His Word.

Now, I am not saying that there is not some good information “out there”. I am not saying that we should not be aware. What I am saying is that you will become what you feed on. I am watching a church that is walking in weakness, dread, fear, confusion, and doubt. This is not the result of feeding on Truth. This is the result of feeding on garbage!!! Truth sets free. Truth uplifts. Truth enlightens the soul. Truth guides. FEED ON THE TRUTH.

There is so much uncertainty looming in the land. It is in this place of vulnerability that the flattering words that are sent to “please” your personal agenda grabs you. Take your eyes away from the beast and place them in the Word. There you will find the necessary guidance for the time and season in which we live. Position yourself at the feet of Jesus in prayer. There, you will find the guiding hand of the Holy Ghost which will lead and guide you into ALL Truth!

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. (Philippians 4:7-9).

Amen!!
